Pam Western, the Executive Director of the Cody Dieruf Benefit Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis, was our speaker on April 13, 2021. This foundation helps those with Cystic Fibrosis and their families to cope with the disease. Their Recreation program helps families to be a part of recreational activities that their family may not be able to afford. The foundation purchases recreation and exercise equipment for those families that need it. The foundation also provides medical assistance to help families get to the only clinic in Montana specializing in CF, which is in Billings. Finally, the foundation provides for a getaway for mothers of children with CF. All expenses of the retreat are covered excluding travel costs. This allows mothers to connect with other mothers that are going through the same thing.
The Foundation will be holding a virtual 5k run on Memorial Day weekend. All proceeds will go toward helping these families to improve the wellbeing of the cystic fibrosis community. For more information or to donate, please go to breathinisbelievin.org
