Our speakers on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, were Anita and Jay Sherley, founders of Life Houses. Life Houses is a faith-based non-profit organization that supports young adults ages 18-25 who are coming from all of life’s various circumstances. Life Houses Inc. was started because the Sherleys saw many young people living visionless, passionless, and sometimes hopeless, lives. Some wandered from job to job, couch to couch, party to party. Some died. Anita and Jay, along with a 9 member board of directors seek to redirect destructive lifestyles by providing safe housing and a healthy environment. Young adults in the program must have a willingness to work with life coaches and mentors who speak truth and help build foundations for success. While living in Life Houses, young adults uncover their strengths, develop life-long friendships, and create their own futures through presence and purpose.
