Highway Clean-up April, 2017
Posted by Brad Lancaster on Apr 11, 2017
Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Sunrise Rotary member, Murray Strong, led a very successful first time effort to have the Helena Sunrise and Helena Noon Rotary Clubs unite to Adopt a stretch of the Spokane Creek highway that runs 2 miles north of “the blinking light” on Highway 12. This project involves picking up garbage three times a year. We are doing our part to help keep litter off the road. It is important to keep debris and pollutants out of highway drainage areas. Community pride is important for a cleaner greener America. How long does trash last? Paper last about 6 weeks, Cigarette Butts last about 1-5 years, plastics 10 + years, aluminum cans 50 years, glass bottles over 200 years. Keep Montana Beautiful. This session resulted in 29 bags filled! THANK YOU MURRAY – GREAT JOB!!!!
